‘’Kindness is the essence of greatness”
         Joseph B. Wirthlin

I agree with this statement. The greatest thing you could do is being kind. Some people are less fortunate than others and if you could help them out, that’s the greatest feeling you could get. Its not always about giving things to people it could simply just be to help an elder person cross the street.

·       Thanksgiving Thanksgiving Day
Thanksgiving is a national holiday celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November. The event called “The first Thanksgiving” was celebrated by the pilgrims in 1621 after their first harvest in the New World. This feast last three days and would include eating deer hunting and doing other fun activities. The pilgrims did not plan on making Thanksgiving a tradition in fact they did not do the feast the following years.  Thanksgiving did not become an annual tradition until 200 years later. In 1789 president George Washington announced the first national Thanksgiving Holiday which took place Thursday November 26. But did not become nationwide until the 19 century. Today Thanksgiving is celebrated every fourth Thursday of November and includes turkey and pumpkin pie.

“If it is not right do not do it; if it is not true do not say it.”
     Marcus Aurelius

Reflection:
What this statement means is that do what is right not what others want you to do. Many students get peer pressured on doing the wrong thing. They also start rumors or say things about people that is not true but say it anyway.

“It may make a difference to all eternity whether we do right or wrong today.”
                         James Freeman Clark

What this quote means is that it makes a big difference when you do the right or wrong thing. Although you might not see it, it impacts how thing turn out to be at that moment or later in your life. For example you make someone else do your homework for you. When you have to do something by yourself your going to suffer because you never learned how to do it.
            Veterans Day
Veterans Day was first celebrated November 11, 1919 but was called “Armistice Day”. It was honoring the end of World War 1. This was on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918. All business was suspended for 2 min starting at 11 am and parades and public gathering were held. Later America began honoring unknown soldiers. It was not until 1954 that the name was changed to Veterans Day. For 7 years Veterans Day was celebrated in October. In 1968 congress moved Veterans Day to the 4th Monday in October so they could enjoy a long weekend. But in 1975 president Gerald Ford changed it back to November 11. To keep the historical meaning. The difference between Veterans Day and Memorial Day is that Memorial Day celebrated in May, honors those who died in war while Veterans Day honors all American Veterans.

“Doing what is right, fair and honorable is more important than winning or losing.”
                      Chick Moorman

reflection:

What Chick Moorman means with this quote is that it is more important for you to be a honorable person than if you win or lose in something. If you know the right thing, people will respect you more than a person that did not do the right thing.

‘’He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed”
Proverbs 13:20

Reflection:
I disagree with this quote. I believe that you choose what you want to do and it should not matter the people you hang out with. I know many educated people that go out to parties to have a good time but are complete different persons when it comes to school or work.
